What to expect at ICPCE 2024

  • The conference will be held in-person in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with an online option available.
  • The theme of the conference is “Integrative Approaches to Mental Health: Bridging Theory, Research, and Practice“. 
  • The conference proceedings will be published in March 2025 in the ISPCE Bulletin. 
  • All participants and paper presenters will receive certificates, whether they attend in-person or online. 
  • All paper presenters will have the opportunity to publish their full paper in the ISPCE Bulletin or in one of i-manager’s journals.

i-manager Publications began with a single journal in 2004 and since then has grown to publish 38 peer-reviewed journals, recognised internationally for their scientific rigour and integrity.

Qiyong Gong MD, PhD

Qiyong Gong, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Clinical Radiology at the West China Hospital of Sichuan University (China), the Associate Editor of the American Journal of Psychiatry (by the American Psychiatric Association, USA), the Editor of the journal Psychoradiology (by Oxford University Press, UK), and an Editorial Board Member of Neuroradiology (by the European Society of Neuroradiology). He is also the Vice President of the West China School of Medicine and the President of West China Xiamen Hospital of Sichuan University.

Dr Gong's work has focused on MR imaging of psychiatric disorders, contributing to psychoradiology, a subfield of clinical radiology. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles as the leading author, with a Google Scholar h-index of over 100, and he is a 2018, 2019, and 2021 Highly Cited Researcher by the Web of Science Group of Clarivate Analytics. Recognition of his contributions led to his being asked to provide an invited review of psychoradiology for the field's flagship journal, Radiology. He has also been invited to edit an issue on psychoradiology for Neuroimaging Clinics of North America, one of the most classical education series for clinicians. Dr Gong presented the NIBIB New Horizons Lecture at the 23rd International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) Annual Meeting in 2015, and he was invited to deliver a one-hour keynote speech on psychoradiology at the 22nd International Conference on Medical Image Computing & Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI 2019). Dr Gong received the ISMRM Senior Fellow Award in 2016, and in 2024 he was named a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).

Vicki Gier, PhD

Dr Vicki Gier is a full professor of psychology at Mississippi State University (MSU)-Meridian’s Arts and Sciences Division. Dr Gier began her academic career at the University of Central Missouri participating in the McNair Scholars Program, which prepares first-generation, low-income university students to complete their doctorates. Dr Gier teaches both experimental psychology biological psychology courses. During ICPCE 2022, she will share her research on missing people.

Dr Emy Nimbley is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Edinburgh. Dr Nimbley works at the Eating Disorder and Autism Collaborative (EDAC), which is an interdisciplinary research network exploring the overlap between autism and eating disorders. Across four workstreams, they are working with and being led by autistic individuals with lived/living experience of an eating disorder. Together, they are co-producing novel research studies, including arts-based, brain imaging, other methodologies, and working together with the wider autism and eating disorder community to translate these studies into meaningful change.

Risydah Fadilah, PhD, is a psychologist and lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Medan Area. Dr Fadilah is particularly recognised for her contributions to mental health discussions, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she emphasised the impact of the crisis on global mental health and advocated for emotional well-being through spiritual emotional intelligence.
